Where’s my economic stimulus check?!? How to check the status of your stimulus check
I am pretty stoked about the so-called economic stimulus checks. I have no plans to stimulate the economy though. I plan on using it to pay down a little debt.
So, when I read that the checks were coming early I got excited. You see, my last two digits are “06″ and this week they were sending out money for “00″ to “20″ so I was expecting that money early in the week.
Yesterday it still had not shown up in my account. I was getting nervous here.
Luckily there is a toll-free IRS stimulus check status hotline that you can call for updates. All you need to do is call 1-866-234-2942. Enter in a small amount info (your social, your filing status and your exemptions) and then it tells you when your check is to be deposited.
I called it last night and it said my stimulus check is being deposited today.
I just checked my account – score! It’s there!
So, if your economic stimulus check is MIA, just call 1-866-234-2942 before getting all worried like I did.

Hey I just called that number and thanks for that, however it says that it has no information available at this time for my account.. what is up with that.
Yeah I am in the same boat as James. I call that # and no info. is available. Is there a number where you can talk to a live person about the status of my check? Spent a bunch of $ on my credit card and thought I would have my check to pay it off bu now.
From what I understand, the info is updated weekly. So, you might want to try it again next week.
I wouldn’t suggest calling a number and entering your information unless you’ve pulled the information directly from the IRS website.

Info wont be available until a week prior to your scheduled deposit. Go to http://www.IRS.gov and you can check out the schedule, along with the status of your money- online… Good luck
I dont know what to do… My social ends with 00 and the phone numer and website have no information on me. I payed my takes the end of march. What is going on ( can any help me?)

Shaun – did you get a refund by direct deposit? You have to have done that in order to have already rec’d your money. Otherwise you have to wait for when they start mailing out the checks. You can get additional info from the IRS site at: http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=177937,00.html

lastweek that irs.gov website had my stimulus info saying it would be mailed by June 6th, last # is 35, BUT NOW THAT DAMN SITE SAYS NO INFO!! Does anyone know why this would happen? Thanks

the EXACT same thing happened to me, I checked it this morning and it says no info, just yesterday ,it had the amount and date that the check would be mailed.

to Ahmir, this has me abit worried, I dont know why the website would do that other than it is down.But if your info was there yesterday and not today, mine was there lasweek and then no info poped up saturday. I wonder if this could be because now we wont get a check? Anyone else have any ideas?
ok this is really weired but as I stated above my info was on the website as of lastweek. and then friday when i checked there was no info. But today I get the Understanding your stimulus payment letter in the mail, ok the funny thing is that the letter is dated for June 2nd, Thats Today how could I have gottin the letter on the same day? anyone have the same thing happen, my check is suppose to be mailed on the 6th I sure hope that comes the same day as well (lol i doubt it though).
i got the same thing checked yesterday ssn ends in 49 statesd check would be mailed on friday june 13th for $1800.00 yes! however checked today and no information. what the devil? glad Im not the only one having this trouble. What does this mean my change better be coming.

i got one for you; my only income was misc. i filled head of house, and e-filed back in march. i got a letter 5-6 wks later saying something about it taking longer and if i needed finatial help to call the tax advocates office. when i did she told me i would need pay check subs or a w2 for her to help me. since i dont have those, i thought id just wait 4 my check. ha! now i get a letter saying my check is on hold untill i send that crap in. whats up with that!? and does that include my stimulis check. it also should of been here by the 6th. and nothing yet!!!!
I’m confused. My stimulus check information has been posted and I should be receiving a check on the 20th of June, however my wife who filed separately does not have any information posted on the site. My SSN is 55 and hers is 60. We should be receiving the check around the same time but I don’t understand why there’s no information for her. This sucks.
yea, i called the number last evening…. said it was no longer a usable number- not disconnected, just ? unreachable. it was weird. and yes, i checked it 3 or 4 times even!

I have been checking the stimulus tool now for some time, knowing full well the last two #’s are 53. I also saw the schedule for the live checks to be mailed. For a week solid now I have checked once a day the tool and it states there that my check will be mailed out on the 20th (according to the schedule that is correct), but the website also states that you will not be able to see your info till payment is a week to a few days out. If I go by the info of the tool and the schedule I am on time because I have not received anything yet. If I go by the instructions of the tool it could be earlier even though I have not received my “letter”. Any comments as to which basket to put my eggs in?

Reasons included are things like you owe child support or you owe the govt. money.
My last two digits for my SSN are 01, and I have not heard anything yet. When I check the status of my check–the reply: “We are sorry. Specific information about your Stimilus Payment if not available.” I file a 1040A every year, and have paid for the last several years. I am retired, but have worked part time ever since retirement. Does that make a difference?
Ethel – from what I understand, if you had income then you get a stimulus check. If you still owe the IRS money for 2007 they might have taken the stimulus check to cover that. I suggest trying to get a real person on the phone at the IRS.
I sent a check with my 2007 return–They cashed it, and I never heard anymore. Do you have a number for me to call???

I filed my 1040 last FEB. But I received another 1099 so I amended my ITR which is the 1040X and I found out that I’m entitled for $ 600.00 Stimulus Check, but until now I haven’t received anything from IRS.
