Inbox Dollars Doesn’t Know What “Paid Email” Means

I signed up for Inbox Dollars about a year ago and get little “paid emails” from them every so often. The way that it works is that you get an email from them and when you click on the link in the email you get “paid.” Cash-out is at $30. You get mere cents for clicking on the links and make real money by completing offers, like a Netflix trial offer. I’ve been doing it since January 2009 and have almost $14 doing no offers and only clicks. So it is a long way to that $30. But, if you want to sign up, click on this link and get a free $5 to get you started. Anyways…

Just now I got an email from them that I went to click for cash and was humored when I opened it.

Note how the subject is “Paid Email from Inbox Dollars” yet it says “You will not receive a reward for completing this offer.” Clearly, they are confused.

Laura Live World Tour 09 DVD Available for Pre-Order

Laura Pausini is my favorite singer and I am stoked that her new dvd Laura Live World Tour 09 is available for pre-order on Amazon right now! The cool thing about Amazon is that if the price drops during the pre-order period then they automatically give you that price.

This is a CD & DVD combo here and it features live tracks and performances from her 2009 world tour as well as three new songs. It is released in the US on December 1, 2009.

Can’t get a loan? What about Lending Club?

Having trouble getting a loan? Or at least getting one with a decent rate? Or maybe you just wanna stick it to the man and not let any banks make any money off of you. Enter Lending Club. Are you familiar with them?

Basically Lending Club is a network of people that lend money as a group to people like you and me that want to borrow money maybe at a lower rate than the bank will let us. And if you have the money to lend, well, you can make some money off of it just by lending it to people like me.

The max you can get a loan for through Lending Club is $25,000 and your repayment term cannot be longer than 3 years. You could use this to get a low interest car loan for example.

I was actually checking it out the other day to see if it could help me out with some high interest credit cards. It does not cost anything to submit an application and I just might do it. If anyone out there has any experience with them, good or bad, feel free to let me know in the comments!

How much is a smog test in California?

On Friday I braved the DMV to get my driver’s license and car registration transferred over to California.

Guess what? Contrary to what the DMV website says, it doesn’t matter what year your car is – if it is from out of state then you have to get a smog test.

Today I set out to get a smog test. How much is a smog test? Well, that depends on where you go. It can cost anywhere from $8.95 to $60. Yes, you read that correctly. Apparently the state wide fee is $8.95 but wanker places are allowed to charge up to $60 for the test.

You can get a list of smog test stations on the DMV page. The first place I called based the amount of the test on the make/model of my car. The quote was $60.

Fortunately I kept looking and found Joe’s Smog Check & Test Only station in North Hollywood. I actually found it on Yelp.com. It had loads of good reviews and the mention of a coupon on the website. Hooray! Joe was just as nice as the reviews mentioned. And there was only one other car there when I arrived. Be warned, this is one of those “blink & you miss it” type of places. So make sure you are on the lookout when driving around looking for it. I was out of there in about 40 minutes. And it only cost me $32 with the coupon!

So, if you want to get a cheap smog test in the Los Angeles area, check out Joe’s Smog Check & Test Only station in North Hollywood. It is Bumblefucked approved.
